Sydney Royal Easter Show
First held in 1823 the Sydney Royal Easter Show is operated by the Royal Agricultural Society (RAS) of New South Wales; a not-for-profit organisation shaping the direction and development of Australian agriculture through competitions, education and events.
THE PROBLEM
How might we translate the physical show experience for a digital world.
THE STORY
Although functional the Sydney Royal Easter Show website was ageing, it was built to protect the infrastructure supporting it by delivering users static HTML rather than dynamic database driven content. LEVO were taksed with the challenge of reinventing the Sydney Royal Easter Show's digital offering by creating a dynamic and intuitive website based on consumer needs not on the restriction of the ageing operating environment.
To complicate things the RAS were operating many different environments pieced together through ageing workflows and data extractions. The website, app, showbag system, and show guide were all managed and maintained seperately with minimal integration built around the assets available, not the customer needs.
Consolidation of 5 website onto a single framework with deep integration across business systems. Features include single sign on across app and website, Salesforce integration and deployment to the Microsoft Cloud for scalability and reliability.
The LEVO solution was based around a central communications hub developed to power the website, app and other communications mediums as required. A series of API's were created to expose key data within Episerver to external applications. From here the data could be manipulated and displayed to the customer in the most appropriate way.
The new Easter Show website designed to encourage visitors to create an account and plan their day at the show. Encouraging visitors to create an account allowed the RAS to not only collect new types of data, automatically, but build a detailed profile on its audience. The data collected was shared across the mobile application via a single sign on and through to Salesforce Marketing Cloud where it was used to dynamically deliver communications based on individual items within a users wishlist.
