Vodafone Hutchison Australia (VHA) engaged Levo to design a solution to assist in the management and reporting of the deployment of Vodafone’s new and improved mobile phone network. VHA is spending $1BN AUD on the new network including the rollout of a new U850 network. You can learn more about the new network here http://www.vodafone.com.au/personal/aboutvodafone/network/network-850/index.htm
The Solution
Levo cooperatively and iteratively designed and developed a management and reporting system for VHA called the VHA Network Reporting Service (NRS). VHA NRS is developed in Microsoft .NET and SQL. It maintains current data for all existing and planned sites on the network. The system reports on programs of work to upgrade the network equipment and deploy new sites.
The Results
Program managers, state deployment management managers, vendors and project offices now receive timely and accurate information on the progress of programs of work and the state of the network. As Vodafone improves the network the networks communication officers are able to provide up to date status reports that drive customer oriented reports on the Vodafone website as well as internal communications. VHA have a massive program of work underway to swap out legacy equipment with new equipment and with so many concurrent programs and interdependencies planners now rely on the NRS to provide them with timescales and pre-requisites from other related programs. By implementing the NRS VHA have brought compliance and governance to their programs and the final result is a contribution to a new faster, better network for Vodafone customers.
